Bryce, Zion and Antelope Canyon In The Winter

If you are coming in to Las Vegas over the course of the next few months in order to take advantage of our great entertainment values, restaurants and shows, you probably booked your trip for this time of year in order to also take advantage of our weather.  Most winter travelers to Las Vegas are escaping the cold and snow of another place in the country or world, and are coming here because they understand that they are probably going to be able to get away with wearing a light jacket or sweater.  Our winter weather is generally in the mid-fifties, and at night we will go down into the low forties or maybe slightly cooler.  The weather is perfect for being outside and enjoying it while the rest of the country sits in freezing temperatures.  The weather seems perfect for hiking and exploration, so why not use some of your Las Vegas vacation to also visit a few of the national parks that are within driving distance of the city, like Bryce, Zion or even protected areas like Antelope Canyon?

You may not have realized it but you picked the perfect time to come to the southwestern United States and to explore our beautiful national parks! Most people will come in the summertime, and as a result these parks get a little more crowded than some people would like.  After all, the whole point of going to a national park is to explore the wild and untamed areas, and if it is too crowded with people and can seem like a little less of a perfect adventure.  Areas like the Grand Canyon and Zion actually get quite crowded during the summer, and can be congested during peak times.  This is why smart travelers visit these places during the winter, when the tourist traffic is less than 10% what it is in the summer.  In addition to having a lot more of the parks to yourself, you will find that the cooler weather of winter is actually perfect weather for being outside.  In the summertime, desert temperatures can go upwards of 100 degrees, which can make hiking and exploration less than comfortable.  During the winter these same areas are going to be in the high-fifties, which is perfect for hiking and exploring without over-heating.  By just bringing a light jacket with you, generally you will be fine during the day.

This winter we are experiencing record warm temperatures, and as a result people are exploring the national parks around us in sixty to seventy degree weather on some days.  This is ideal, and is only seen very rarely in this area.  Because of the absolutely perfect weather, we are seeing an increase in the amount of booking for national parks tours, so call ahead to make sure that the tour you want has openings.  If you wan to explore the national parks around us in comfort, allow us to transport you there on any one of our guided adventure tours.  We offer different tours that will fit your schedule, from one day to multiple days and parks.  The adventure awaits you.
