You are finally taking that Las Vegas vacation that you have always dreamed about, good for you.  In one of the world's greatest cities for entertainment, hotels, casinos and restaurants it is hard not to have a good time.  But before you make plans for every day of your trip, we have a tip for you.  Because Las Vegas was born as a stopover in the middle of the desert for people who are traveling from the east coast to California, we are actually perfectly situated to be only short distances from some of the best national parks and protected spaces in the country.  Few people realize that when you are sitting in Las Vegas you are only 2 hours drive from Zion, and only four hours drive from the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Bryce Canyon.  The American southwest is one of the most beautiful areas on earth, and it would be a shame to come all this way and not experience a little bit of what our great outdoors can provide.  You are going to notice really fast that most of the casinos and hotels are pretty much the same, but you are never going to see anything like our national parks again.  Don't waste the travel time that it took you to come all the way to Las Vegas and miss the awesome natural landscape that is only a short drive away.  We can make it easy for you, we drive the buses and take care of all the tour arrangements for you, so you don't even have to think about it. So you are coming to Las Vegas for a vacation, congratulations on choosing one of the most exciting cities on earth to spend your time.  Las Vegas is globally known for it's gambling, hotels, restaurants and shows, and we are sure you will enjoy your time here.  The city was built to serve tourists just like yourself, and we are sure that you will have a great time.  You will probably notice really fast that the city is built around gambling, and as a result the majority of our entertainment is inside of casinos and hotel properties.  However, Las Vegas is one of the best cities on earth for weather, and we have less than 4 rainy days per year on average.  The weather in the southwestern US is essentially perfect, so it is a shame that more people don't get out and explore some of the awesome outdoor activities we have as well.  Another thing that many people do not realize is that we are located within about a 4 hour drive from some of the best national parks and protected spaces on earth, including Bryce, Zion, Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon.  If you are going to be taking all of the time and effort to fly all the way to Las Vegas, isn't it a shame that you aren't going to take just a little time to visit some of these places as well? When you started thinking about the things you were going to do during your Las Vegas vacation, you probably Googled "things to do in Las Vegas." The list you were presented with probably had a lot of shows and restaurants that were in and around the city, mostly on the strip.  Some of the more extensive lists will also include things to do that are not necessarily in the city itself, and will discuss must see places outside of Las Vegas within a reasonable driving distance.  This list will mostly reference the different national parks that are in the general vicinity and able to be driven to, and this list will almost be guaranteed to include the Grand Canyon.  The Grand Canyon is considered one of the most iconic landscapes on earth, and must be visited by anyone who has come to Las Vegas.  If you have come this far, it is quite simply worth the few more hours of driving to see it.  The Grand Canyon is located in Arizona about four hours drive from Las Vegas, and because it is within such a reasonable distance it is offered by most tour companies in one form or another leaving from Las Vegas as the starting point.  We offer the Grand Canyon tour as an overnight that includes camping because we believe that you cannot do and see everything that is worth seeing in only one day if you lose the first four hours of it to driving.  We like to spend at least a full day in the park exploring, hiking and viewing so we will also offer the Grand Canyon as part of our multi-day packages as well, because it takes less time to get there from some of the other nearby parks that we visit than it
