Itinerary

Day 1 – Travel to Yosemite, Explore the Valley And Giant Sequoia Grove
As you settle in for the journey, we’ll pass by some exceptional San Francisco sights. Catch views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz Island and the incomparable San Francisco Skyline as we head east on the Bay Bridge. You’ll taste a piece of California’s rich agricultural hub as we pass through a slice of the Central Valley famous for specialty fruits and nuts such as almonds, walnuts, cherries, and strawberries.
You’ll know we’re getting close when the winding roads and earthy smells take us deep into the forest. We’ll take our first hike to the legendary Giant Sequoia Grove and enjoy picnic lunches, and wander among the world’s largest trees. Next, we’ll leave the gentle giants of the Sequoia Grove in the mini-coach to get a narrated tour through Yosemite’s glaciated valley. We’ll make a few stops along the way to snap some pictures of some of the famous waterfalls and rock formations along the way while your guide gives you some of the history that makes this park so special.
Now it’s time to spend a few hours exploring on your own! We’ll make a stop near the base of Yosemite Falls, where those staying at the Yosemite Lodge can check-in leave their luggage. You’ll have a number of options of where to go, including a leisurely walk through the Ansel Adams Gallery, the historic Ahwahnee lodge, or get your pulse up with a hike or bike ride along the river.
At the end of the day we’ll come together as a group to check out the available dinner options, or you can take time to explore more of the park. Be sure to get a good night’s rest for a day of exploring Yosemite High Country tomorrow!

Day 2 – Free Time In Yosemite
Prepare to enjoy a full day with a plethora of views and options! We’ll drive as a group back to Glacier Point to see the majestic view of the valley floor. From here, you’ll choose how you’d like your day to go. Are you itching to get back on those trails? Would you rather peruse the visitor’s center and kick back with a beer and a slice of pizza? Do you prefer to check out the bike trails? Or does a day of exploring Yosemite Valley tickle your fancy? Today, you get to choose! Your guide knows all the different hike options, so check in with them for the skinny on which walks are the most or least rigorous and which ones offer the best views.
We’ll come back together to take our last group trek to the base of El Capitan where we’ll see climbers the size of ants approaching the summit before climbing back in the mini-shuttle to get back to San Francisco. Now is the time to kick back and enjoy the ride back West through the mountains, orchards, and fields towards the city. Enjoy the skyline of San Francisco at night as we cross the Bay Bridge and return you to your lodging at approx 9pm.
